How Invisalign Works

Most of our Auburn dentistry customers are aware of how orthodontics straighten teeth. Essentially, a set of brackets and wires, secured to the teeth, generate tension that gently pulls them into their appropriate orientation. This approach to orthodontics was invented in the 19th century and is definitely a tested treatment, but it is really not modern.

Invisalign brings orthodontics into the 21st century! There are no irritating brackets attached to your teeth and no wires to tighten that can poke your cheeks, gums, tongue and lips. Instead, a set of clear plastic aligners or “trays” are customized for your needs, based on a treatment plan developed by our Auburn dentist who utilizes effective techniques established by Invisalign. These snug, detachable aligners cover your teeth and are used throughout the day, but can be removed when you eat and when you brush your teeth. They require little maintenance, as every two weeks, you start using a new one to continue your transformation. Each tray gently pulls your teeth into better alignment, providing you with an orthodontic transformation that you barely feel.
