Dr. Matson of Rock Creek Dental understands the needs of military veterans. He served in the U.S. Navy, both in the Middle East and on destroyers off the coast of Japan. From this service, he remembers the regimented lifestyle that forced sailors to visit the naval dentist. As Dr. Matson says, “Every six months you had an appointment. For some guys, that was the first, and only, time that they regularly went to the dentist.” After he left the service, however, Dr. Matson saw the evidence that veteran benefits are sometimes hard to secure and in other situations are not even provided — especially for dentistry.
